Be aware of your surroundings. On 2/8/08 Dallas Police Department Lieutenant Barbara Hobbs sent an email to several area neighborhood associations and residents warning of a disturbing incident nearby.

I want to let you know of an incident that happened on Feb. 3, 2008, about 9:45 am. near the corner of Swiss and Fitzhugh. This incident was reported by the SAHD neighborhood association. This incident occurred in the general area where you live and I wanted to make you aware of it.

A neighbor noticed a woman jogging north on Swiss wearing headphones. A grey Chevy Silverado pickup pulled over to the curb and the driver jumped out and started running after the woman. He was wearing blue jeans and a heavy gray coat (not jogging clothes) and started running after her as soon as he stepped out of his truck. He caught up to her just before Collett Avenue but he stayed behind her. She never knew he was there. The man then stopped and ran back to his truck. The neighbor got into his vehicle to check on the woman who did not know that the man was even behind her.

The truck description is a follows: Dark Grey Chevrolet Silverado, Texas License Plate 82D CF6

There were two decals in the back windows, one on the driver side and one on the passenger’s side. They were decals of some type of sport like soccer. The neighbor called 911 and reported the incident.

Please pass this information on to your members and please call 911 if you see this vehicle or any other suspicious activity in your areas. This is a great example of looking out for your neighbors and passing along important information to the police. We are following up on the vehicle information in an attempt to identify the owner.

Thanks again for your involvement.
