WHY??? Emissions from lawn mowers are a significant source of air pollution. According to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the engines in gas-powered lawn equipment pollute more than car engines. One hour of lawn mowing with a gas-powered lawn mower produces as much pollution as driving your car for four hours. Funding for this program has been generously provided by the Sue Pope Fund, a project of Downwinders at Risk. City of Dallas residents are eligible to receive this discount and must show proof of residency. ** Please remember to recycle or properly dispose of the gas and oil in your mower. Take the gas and oil to: Home Chemical Collection Center (HC3) 11234 Plano Road Dallas, Texas 75243 (214) 553-1765 Please call 214-670-6646 for more information. Date: Saturday, June 21st Time: 9am to 3pm (or while supplies last; only 400 mowers available) Where: Dallas City Hall Horseshoe Parking area 1500 Marilla St Dallas, TX 75201 | |
