Budget Cuts at Stonewall Jackson Elementary

The Stonewall Jackson PTA has provided the following information regarding the elimination of the Science Lab Program (aka the Stonewall Garden) at Stonewall Jackson.  This cut is separate from the DISD cuts to come.   Funding provided by the state ("State Compensatory Funding"), rather than the district, has provided the monies to Stonewall Jackson for this applied science program.  This matter is of concern to residents because Stonewall Jackson is a neighborhood elementary school and many local kids attend it.  The presence of quality schools adds to the quality of life in the Lower Greenville Neighborhood Association area.

Burglar Arrested Thru ENP

The Lower Greenville Crime Watch announces the first arrest to be conducted as part of our Extended Neighborhood Patrol. The arrest was of a career criminal who most recently burglarized a home in the 5800 block of Kenwood. There is no way to know how many burglaries we prevented with this arrest, but we are confident it was no small number based on the length of the burglar's rap sheet. His rap sheet included numerous burglary incidents going back 7 years.
